Marcel McManus Sr.

Musician, Singer, Author, Radio Personality

Marcel McManus, Sr. is a radio personality, relationship influencer, author, and gospel recording artist dedicated to uplifting and inspiring others through media, music, and community engagement.

A native of Toombs County in Lyons, GA, Marcel was raised in a devoted Christian home where music and singing played a significant role in his upbringing. He grew up attending a radio station on Sunday mornings with his grandfather, local pastor Bishop James Holland, and his home church. These early experiences sparked his interest in broadcasting, leading him to become the dynamic radio personality he is today.

As the host of The Marcel McManus Radio Show, Marcel delivers a refreshing, exhilarating, and inspirational program syndicated out of the “Good Life City” of Albany, GA. His show captivates listeners worldwide with eclectic gospel selections, uplifting interviews, biblical discussions, community topics, and his signature “Wisdom Moments.”

Marcel began his radio career in 2019 with The Marcel McManus Radio Show on WSLT 88.5 FM in Statesboro, GA, where he hosted the midday show on Mondays from 1–3 PM. With a lifelong passion for radio, he has interviewed many notable figures, including Yolanda Adams, Dr. Bobby Jones, MAJOR., Brent Jones, Deitrick Haddon, JJ Hairston, Dorinda Clark Cole, Todd Dulaney, Melissa L. Williams from Tyler Perry’s Ruthless, Debra Snipes, and Lady Tramaine Hawkins. His program expanded to over six states and eight stations, further growing its reach through his own app and social media platforms.

In addition to radio, Marcel was inspired to become a Relationship Influencer after experiencing a divorce in 2021 and navigating relationships that taught him valuable lessons about himself and others. His ultimate goal is to see more healthy, Godly relationships prosper. In early 2023, he began sharing relationship insights on Facebook and The Marcel McManus Radio Show, encouraging many people on their journey to find love again. He is currently preparing to release his first relationship book, which will compile insights on personal, family, and business relationships.

As an author, Marcel wrote God Trusted Me With the Mic, his debut book. Musically, he has been immersed in gospel from an early age, learning from his family and fellow musicians. While many of his relatives played guitar or drums, Marcel gravitated to the keyboard, piano, and organ. In 2008, he released his first single, We Thank You Lord, dedicated to his great-grandmother, Betty Jo Holland, who miraculously survived a major stroke. More recently, he released I’ve Decided to Make Jesus My Choice, produced by Luther Wardlaw of the nationally recognized gospel group The Wardlaw Brothers, blending traditional and contemporary gospel in his own unique style.

Currently, Marcel serves as General Manager of WUTU 88.3 FM, a community radio station in Albany, GA, owned by The Sherard Institute. Under his leadership, the station continues to expand its reach through gospel music, artist development, community programming, and impactful interviews.

In 2024, Marcel’s commitment to gospel media and ministry was recognized when he was honored with an award at the Gospel Sound Radio Awards. That same year, he also experienced a career milestone by attending the prestigious Stellar Awards, where he connected with industry leaders, artists, and visionaries—further solidifying his place in gospel media.

Beyond media and music, Marcel is working on launching McManus Magazine, a platform dedicated to highlighting influential people and powerful community stories. Through MLM Ministries Inc., he also advocates for and empowers fathers navigating child support and employment challenges, extending his passion for ministry and mentorship into real-life impact.

Whether through radio, writing, music, or ministry, Marcel McManus, Sr. continues to build platforms that uplift, inspire, and transform lives.
